Fire Marshal in town
We can expect a visit from the state Fire Marshal this week. Here are the guidelines we are required to follow in order to pass inspection:
- No parking in fire lanes
- Student work posted on bulletin boards only (I promise I'm not making this one up)
- Nothing hanging from ceilings
- Noting covering or hanging from lights
- No desks or tables in hallways
- Classroom doors closed
- Evacuation maps posted by each classroom door
Most of these requirements we already follow, but the doors closed is a new one for us. Please make sure your doors are closed and unlocked (I know this is contrary to the required lock down procedures, but this is what the fire marshal has specified in order to pass inspection).

Planning Ahead
- March 7 is the City Wide STEM Night at the NAU Skydome
- March 8 State of Black Arizona Event. I will include details in next week's blog, but have been asked by B. Hickman to select 30 CHS students of African American or Native American to attend this event. More info soon!
Missing in Action
I forgot to tell you that I will not be in the building Tues, Wed and Thurs this week
I am in Phoenix today for the Rodel Reception/Orientation and am taking Wednesday and Thursday off to travel to California to spend time with my mom.
