Update ~ May 30-June 2, 2017

CELEBRATING SUCCESS...
Congratulations everyone for the outstanding accomplishments of this year (in spite of the many challenges we have faced). One area that we have made a significant and positive change is in the area of student conduct. The decrease in reported Minor Infractions (referrals by problem behavior) over the past five years is quite significant.  Looking back at the 2012-13 we had 4,043 minor infractions and currently, as the 2016-17 comes to a close, we we have only 871 minor infractions. This is an area that will always require our attention, but this data speaks to the hard work and commitment of all of the faculty and staff at CHS.  Our students are so very fortunate to have adults who care so deeply about positively impacting their lives and the future.

We are grateful for each and every one of you.
We hope you enjoy your well deserved summer break, we'll push "refresh" and see you all back here in August.
All our best,

Update ~ May 22-26, 2017

CELEBRATING SUCCESS...
Thank you Tim Fox, for always reminding us that even in the face of adversity, you can find goodness.  Following the disastrous Friday morning, class of 2017, prank, Tim made his way to find me, to let me know that about 40-50 students woke up with sun to begin cleaning up the mess made the night before. When the clean up was complete later that morning, about 200 CHS seniors descended on the neighborhood to do good deeds. The annual CHS Senior Service Day is a 19 year tradition and the way our kids give back and pay it forward.  A special thank you to Janet Chavez, Cris Holmes and all the senior teachers who accompanied our students to the various locations in and about the community.
As you all know, we have the best custodial team in the district.  When you see our custodians this week, please let them know how much we appreciate each and everyone of them and thank them for their hard work on Friday and throughout the year.  On behalf of the faculty, staff and students THANK YOU CHS Custodians!!!

UNDERCOVER BOSSES...
Our current and new superintendent will be visiting CHS this Tuesday morning.  Please share a warm CHS greeting to Dave Dirksen and Mike Penca should you see them here on Tuesday.
