REACHING FOR THE STARS...
In addition to February being CTE month, this week is National School Counseling Week and the theme is "School Counselors: Helping Students Reach for the Stars".  Counseling week is not only to celebrate school counselors and the tremendous impact they have in helping students achieve school success but also to bring public attention to the powerful contributions of school counselors in the US school systems.
Please join me in thanking and recognizing our CHS counseling department and encouraging our students to reach for the stars.  A big THANK YOU to each of our counselors.

* CHS School Counselors are assigned alphabetically by student's last name:
  • A-Ga ~ Tina Jacobs
  • Ge-O ~ LaShia Scharfenberger
  • P-Sh ~ Barrett Tritle
  • Si-Z ~ Meg Hugart
  • CAVIAT Counselor ~ Donna Lyons
  • Native American Academic Advisor ~ Loreal Scott
  • Counseling Secretary ~ Kira Blair
A NOTE FROM DR. CHRIS GUNN (Guest presenter for our meeting on January 31)
As I looked around the room and interacted before, during, and after the program, I felt the very focused attention and caring attitudes of your crew. Quite impressive. As you well know, you’ve got very good people on your team - professionals who care deeply about students and want to learn additional ways to help students.
Thank you for calling on me to assist you in your responsive and proactive work in “talking about
the hard stuff.” Kudos to you all and your CHS Counseling Department for being leaders in this work.
