Update ~ October 29-November 2, 2018

CELEBRATING SUCCESS...
City Champions sure has a nice ring.  It gives me great joy and pride to congratulate our 2018 Panther football team for their victory on Friday night.  Congratulations to coach Moran, the entire coaching staff and the athletes (our J.V. and Freshman teams also defeated the Eagles last week).  This victory was on behalf of our entire school and the love, joy, and pride that was displayed on Friday night to our whole town was possible because of all of you.  Think Rube Goldberg machine.   THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to the success of this spectacular evening. 50 Years Panther Strong!

Each week when I sit down to write the celebrating success section I reflect on all the amazing things that happen at our school each week.
This weekend after performing with passion and enthusiasm at the football game our CHS band marched along proudly with the same vigor and enthusiasm in the NAU Homecoming Parade Saturday morning.
In addition to the teaching and learning that goes on each day and in spite of the numerous disruptions and interruptions, big and little things contribute to the celebration of our successes.  Last week our counseling department hosted nearly 40 postsecondary institutions during our College and Career Fair.  Over 1000 students learned more about their options after high school.  While all this was going on Jesse Cornett, Brian Locke and David Tessmer hosted a Technology and Industry Summit to over forty business and college representatives in our community to showcase CTE and to strengthen our community partnerships.
And that was all in just one week, wow!

JUST WHEN WE THOUGHT IT WAS SAFE TO GO BACK IN THE CLASSROOM...
It's Halloween   Students are permitted to wear a costume to school, however, the only head accouterments that will be permitted are animal ears and such, that are part of the costume.  Head-coverings such as ball caps, hoods, cowboy hats, stocking caps, bandanas etc., will not be permitted. Full face paint and masks are also not allowed. Grrrrrr!

SAFETY...
Our safety drill this week will be a fire drill, Thursday, November 1 at 1:45 pm.
