Misty eyes, full hearts, holy moly...
Coconino High School kicked it up a notch for the AASC Convention. Honestly this event hosted by our very own CHS StudCo was indescribable. Coconino really shined this weekend as we hosted nearly 2000 student leaders from around the state. Our StudCo students are truly amazing. I could go on and on, but I'll stop here and just say you should all be so proud of our students and our school. Congratulations and a great big giant thank you to Gaby Garcia and StudCo, Krista Dobosh, Theresa Freas, Colonel Morris, Dean Shaddy, Keith Nicolson, Craig Howdeshell, Ben Proctor, JROTC, Links Crew, Digital Media, Cheer, Dance, Band, Culinary, Baseball players, Art Club, CocoNuts, NHS, Asian Cultural Club, Special Olympics, Job Club, random student helpers, CHS parents and our custodians. Thank you also to everyone at CHS for your patience, flexibility, focus and understanding last week. This was a spectacular leadership convention and certainly a feather in our cap.
Anything else?
This week I received a letter from the AdvnacedED accreditation review board, The first line of the letter reads "Dear Ms. Zanzucchi: Congratulations on your accreditation status change from being “under review” to accredited." WOO HOO COCONINO! We are out of the woods. Excellent work everyone, we're moving forward.
Oh and one last thing... remember the story Mike Vogler shared about the eleven after school math intervention students? This week they brought their friends so their friends could experience success too-and have some snacks. And, even better than that, nine of the 11 original students passed their benchmark test and are no longer failing the class. - Applause
What's Happening this Week?
- Tuesday Night, 2/9 CHS will be hosting an AP parent night for our incoming 9th grade parents. We will be introducing our AP Scholars Program.
- Tuesday, 2/9 CHS Ladies Basketball Team heading to post season play offs at Sunnyslope High School. Go Panthers!
- Thursday, 2/11 Winter Pep Assembly during Pathways 1:20-2:20pm in the main gym.
- Friday, 2/12 CHS Wrestlers participating in the State Championships in Prescott.
