CELEBRATING SUCCESS...
Our "Spotlight on Success" faculty meeting is around the corner. On April 5, we will gather together to share our many successes with one another. Each department will have the opportunity to highlight this year's successes, moments of pride and future plans if applicable. Please decide within your departments what you would like to share and who your spokesperson will be. You need not put together a formal presentation, just a two to four minute highlight. The Spotlight on Success meeting will be April 5, at 1:15pm in the mini theater. Dessert will be served.
Congratulates to our Panther Special Olympics Team for their successful participation in the Special Olympics World Championships in Austria! Welcome back, Panther Strong!
ASSESSMENT UPDATES...
AIMS up first. This Thursday, March 30 all sophomores and, freshmen students who are currently enrolled in Biology, will take the AIMS Science exam. The test will begin at 8:00am in both the small and large gyms. Students should go directly to the gyms, but please direct these students to the gym, should they show up in your classroom.
AZMERIT on deck. The AZMerit testing begins April 4. Because all AZMerit tests are computer based there are technology based security measures that we are required to follow. All teachers who administer AZMerit (English 9, 10 & 11 and Algebra 1&2 and Geometry), must attend the security training sessions. Brief security trainings will take place in the CHS library in 20 minute sessions, Wednesday, March 29 beginning at 1:15pm. Please contact Chelsea Lohr with questions.
FUTURE...
In collaboration with Puente de Hozho and Sinagua Middle School, Coconino High school has been working on strengthening the K-12 articulation of our language programs: Puente de Hozho Tri-lingual school, SMS Puente Language Academy and CHS Language Institute. Our three schools have decided to move forward with the pre-candidacy application process to become eligible to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum in all three schools. This is very exciting for us and aligns with our vision, and relentless pursuit of academic excellence. I will keep you all posted as we progress through the process.
