Update ~ December 7-11, 2015

Celebrating Success
We really have some amazing students.  As we work together each and every day to create a vibrant school  community that exemplifies academic excellence and model citizenship, I thought I would share this quote that was at the end of an e-mail I received last week from a CHS teacher...

"And it is weird in all seriousness, My students this year end to end are as good as I have ever had. Amazing. Beyond a tardy, I have sent ZERO slips to RTR. None. Great kids."

And how about this email?
"We just dismissed from our trip down to Phoenix today and the band students handled themselves beautifully!  They received a Superior with Distinction (This is the highest score possible) at the festival and received many positive comments from the adjudicators on their performance, fundamentals, maturity, and musicality."
Congratulations to Jennifer Hamilton and the CHS Band, we are so proud!

Theres more...
From the Counseling Corner
On Dec. 3rd the counselors hosted "How to Pay for College Night." Presenters for the night included Lisa Gallegos from CCC/NAU Educational Opportunity Centers and Roxanne Dewyer from the NACRC.  Parents were extremely grateful and many commented on how helpful it was to hear about the financial aid process and details about applying for scholarships.  The next parent night will be January 21st where counselors will be available to assist students/families with filling out the FAFSA.

Congratulations to Donna Lyons and LaShia Scharfenberger for earning the distinction of "Arizona College Access Professionals".  They are two of 33 professionals in the state who have completed a series of modules to increase their knowledge of college and career readiness skills.  They, along with other FUSD participants will be recognized by Arizona College Access Network (AzCAN)  at the Dec. 8th FUSD Board Meeting.

Vibrant School Community, Oh yeah, that's what I'm talking about :)
